Great Fire of London

North Hertfordshire Museum visited the school to deliver a workshop for Dove Class. The children were very excited to learn about 17th Centuary London and the causes of the fire. Ikobi was chosen to dress up as a 17th Century Firefighter and we learned that they were employed by insurance companies to put out fires. Without this insurance the firefighter would not help to put out a burning building! The children all enjoyed creating a bucket chain to put out the fire and were shocked to learn how close together the houses had ben built. We finished the session by each creating a broad sheet about the fire
